    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

While he does require the coursework to be completed, Brandyn Johnson is a very flexible teacher. This is great for those attending BHSU's Rapid City branch, many of whom are students with jobs or families. So long as you come talk to him about it before the deadline with an explanation, he will extend the due date of your Essay. If you still cannot turn it in, he will set aside time to talk with you at the end of class or even outside of class hours. He does a great job at helping students get ideas for their essays through guided discussions of the material in class. If you submit an Essay at the beginning the semester, once graded he allows you to make adjustments to it before the end of the semester with a maximum 10% increased grade.

    Course highlights:

Even though it didn't feel like it at first, by the end if the class I could definitely tell that my writing and expression capabilities had greatly improved. I was able to notice this thanks to Professor Johnson's policy of allowing students to improve essays after submission. I ended up going back to my first two essays in the last few weeks of class, and I suddenly noticed many things that I could improve upon. Not only did I learn how to be a better writer, I learned how to better interpret literature and media. In class, Professor Johnson taught us how to read between the lines of the story to take more out of it, which ended up making the books that were assigned to us much more enjoyable.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be attentive and ready to speak up and engage in the discussion in class! If all of the students in class work together, everyone's essays will have much more to flesh out.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course with Professor Bauman because he grades fairly and loves what he does. We has completely different views and he still gave me A's on my essays because he was able to recognize good writing and facts and not be blinded by the topic and the fact that it went against everything he believed.

    Course highlights:

Though this was the last semester he used this textbook, we read Literature and the Environment. Many controversial conversations were brought up and he expected each student to participate. if anything, it improved my word choice and how a single word can impact the entire sentence pr paragraph.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to what he has to say. He gives good advice, even if it feels as if he's just nitpicking. He simply wants his students to be better writers because that's what will get them jobs in the end.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Reznikov is a great teacher and incorporates relevant topics into school work. He is very soft spoken which makes hearing him a little difficult at times.

    Course highlights:

I enhanced my writing ability and learned writing rules that I wasn't aware of. I really enjoyed the course because I felt I really learned from it, even though it was an English course.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to his office during office hours to go over your essay to improve for the next ones.
