    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Hansen goes out of his way to make sure you succeed, the only thing is you have to want it. This course was challenging, but was very rewarding in the way that you will know everything for the chemistry classes to come.

    Course highlights:

The main concepts I grasped this year was a lot of conversions, especially energy conversions, but there were other aspects in which I learned like molecular geometries and gas laws.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be serious about this class right away, it is very intense and once your behind you will never catch up. Also see him if you have a question, he will explain it way better to you than any of your friend will.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a general course so it's just specifically general chemistry and it's difficult, but the professor just makes it so worth it for me. He is focused on learning and not just memorizing and he really pushes us to understand conceptually not just do the math! As I go through this course too I see how it impacts other fields. It brings in aspects of past bio classes and math classes and I really feel like it's a beneficial class.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about the molecular make up of what is around us and how it works together. Learning how atoms and molecules interact together really fascinated me because I feel like I've learned so much more about the world and how it works.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work hard and really understand the material. Just trying to memorize how to do certain problems won't overall help you and you won't really benefit from the course. Take the time to conceptually understand the topics and know how to apply them to all of the different scenarios given.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

THis was a gret course for goign over basics in chemistry and also an introduction into organic chemistry at the end.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the part about organic chemsitry and all of the different names there are.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the course seriously and dont get behind when in the course. Make sure to do the practice exams and worksheets he gives.
