    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It expanded my knowledge on older music and artists. The professor incorporated helpful ways to make the class enjoyable, even through the classical music. The tests were difficult, which forced students to pay more attention during the lectures and increase their studying habits; By doing so, my preparation for test has increased greatly.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part(s) of this course was when we working into the hip hop era of music. I love that genre of music so it was cool learning new things about artist I already knew about. More specifically, learning about MoTown Records and their first artists really intrigued me.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study your notes every night after each lecture to help the information to sink into your brain more. If it was in the lecture, there is a 90% chance that it going to be on the test.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this Music course to anyone who needs to know the basics. I was told by many people that Music Appreciation was a tough course by Professor Carver made it so much understanding.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was her personality. She had a story to tell with almost everything that we learned. She was also very visual. I learned many things with the piano even though I am not a music person.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to anyone that is taking this course is to study. Her test were not difficult but you do need to be familiar with the material to pass. Put in a reasonable amount of hours to study not only for this course but for every course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you get the old book you will be going crazy when your asked to listen to the corresponding music for the chapter. Don't go for the cheap last addition book because it doesn't come with the CD for the music. Which your extra credit will be on.

    Course highlights:

I learned there are many types of rhythm to music. People interpret songs differently and even the greatest musicians of our time made mistakes on their craft.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always listen to the tracks, read the review and the do the extra credit it will add points to your final grade.
