    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor does not provide students with much feedback until the end of the course, when she is grading. She also interjects her personal opinions into student final essays instead of objectively critiquing them for the actual skills students are attempting to develop.

    Course highlights:

The greatest thing I learned is attention to detail with the MLA format, and that reference material is necessary to accomplish the directions given to students.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to utilize their handbooks often.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She makes it very clear for her love of music which makes it hard to understand if you are in English anymore. She also assigns readings that needs more diversity.

    Course highlights:

I did learn thoroughly about MLA, APA, and Chicago style learning.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take lots of notes in class. Make sure to listen to instructions verbally given, because it sometimes changes.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor explains all course work. He is always available by email. We talk about the essays in class but also grammar. Which helps when writing essay. We also joke around quite a bit but the professor gets back a track right after.

    Course highlights:

I went into English comp. 1 thinking it would be easy. Once in there I became very overwhelmed due to all the essays that would need to be turned in within 12 weeks. But in the end I because more confident in my writing skills. Thanks professor Katz!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to write 6 essays! Professor Katz will read over your essays and give them back for corrections. He will not accept them until they are up to his standards. Come to class get points. Easy class overall.
