Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for any student who feels frustrated by the amount of busy work that can be found in Gen Ed courses. Dr. Lindsey cuts out this busy work by focusing solely on the the subject matter of the course, that is effectively receiving and giving oral communication. The entirety of the grade rests on four speeches. This cuts out the busy work, but also means that to receive a good grade the student has to but in a dedicated effort.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was the open ended topic selection. Students were encouraged to pick topics for study that interested them rather than pick an easily applied general topic as a form of template.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of your speeches. Give yourself enough time to research, plan, and practice. It is really hard to throw something together for this course in the last minute and it will reflect in you grade.
