    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a disappointing experience overall. Focused on teaching performers the business side versus teaching all the foundations of the industry.

    Course highlights:

Honestly finishing the course was the best part

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Quite simply just don't. Take anything else.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is amazing because, being a survey course, you get a wide overview of MANY things in the music industry. For me it was completely new information and it was extremely rewarding to learn so much about the industry I want to be a part of.

    Course highlights:

This course covers everything from copyright law, to how much it costs to record an album, how to get a record deal, etc. The best part of this class is that since it is a survey class and spans every part of the music industry, you get to see how it all works together to form the entire music industry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would definitely take this course as soon as possible if you think you have interest in learning about Music Business. It will give you a better idea of what part of the industry you have interest in and what wouldn't be a good fit for you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone interested in the music business. Even if music business is not your major it is interesting to learn about the industry. And for people in the program it is a great beginner class where you will learn basics and how to get your foot in the door in the music industry.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this class would be that the professor is very insightful. He has lots of experience in the industry and would give us insider tips on how to become successful. I learned a lot through him but I think the most important information was the importance of networking. Networking is truly how you become successful in the music industry and this course taught me just how important that is.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This course was relatively easy and the readings were never really required, but they would help in the class discussions. This course does have a good amount of writing assignments, maybe 6 or 7, but most were very short being about one to two pages. This class is required for some majors but it is very insightful and definitely not a waste of time.
