Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Upon taking this course, I learned about the different types of art, what makes a masterpiece a masterpiece, and the multiple techniques used in painting. I enjoyed this course because I gained a concept of the mood behind some artists and their work. It was cool learning about how there are genres used in art and categorizing an artist with a specific genre.

    Course highlights:

This course focused on the history of art and multiple artists behind many famous paintings. I learned about the types of art, the language of visual art with the three elements that construct a wonderful piece of work. There are also themes and purposes behind art and we had a group project in which we had to pick a piece of art from the textbook randomly and categorize with a theme/purpose and why we think that piece of art belongs to that theme/purpose. We also had to find two more pieces of art that represent the theme/purpose by the same artist.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook and take notes off the chapter you read. During class, the instructor refers to reading required for the homework from the night before. Remember the artists and each piece of artwork your instructor brings up in class. You will more than likely see the exact same piece of artwork on a test with a multiple choice question asking the name of the work and the artist behind it.
