    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I thought it was very interesting. The information was useful for my major, which is psychology.

    Course highlights:

I learned everything about culture and people. Sociology explains why we do what we do and what different cultures believe in. I learned about family structures and friends groups, and how economic status makes a difference in who you become and what you believe.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read, read, and read more. The professor is nice, but he just reviews the book in class. Read every page and every text box. Study the statistics and definitions. Try to find things to associate the definitions with words the define. Taking the time to do the work should get you an A.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course itself was very interesting but I didn't learn anything in class that I had not already read out of our book the night before. I would largely place the blame for this on the professor though and I believe it could be a very good course if a more interesting and animated professor had taught it.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot of knowledge on bigger picture issues happening in the US and around the world that I was very unaware of and I found that very interesting as well as being exposed to a multitude of cultures and practices around the world.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely have the reading done before you get to class or you will fall behind quickly and plan for a lot of reading because the professor usually covered huge sections at a time.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The reason I would never recommend this course isn't because of the course but because of the professor. She rarely lectured on what was supposed to be taught that day, instead going on feminist rants. In this course students basically teach themselves.

    Course highlights:

We were supposed to learn about our modern society beginning with the start of sociology and psychology but instead we learned about feminism.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Just don't take this class with Dr. Mundy.
