    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Barnett is the most incredible teacher I have ever had. He sees each individual student as a friend, which is so different than most teachers. I want to build relationships with his students and cares for them. Go to his office hours! He wants to build relationships with his students because he genuinley cares.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Barnetts's teaching is incredible. He teaches students by telling history as a story, rather than the old boring way most teachers do. Dr. Barnett wants all of his students to achieve and do their best. He is truly incredible and has changed my perspective of Recent American History.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study your notes every day after class to learn the material. For the exam, you basically write down everything you know in the essay question.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Barnett is a brilliant professor who makes history come alive in a way I've never experienced before. If you pay attention in this course and take good notes, not only will you surpass your own expectations, but the living history that Dr. Barnett shares will be utterly formative to your worldview. Robert Barnett is also one of the most caring people you will ever meet, and is more than willing to meet with students.

    Course highlights:

I loved the way that the course tied together trends in art and literature with the socioeconomic and political climate of the day. I also loved the humanity that he bestows on every historical figure. It would take a book to say everything I need to say about this course and this man, but suffice it to say: you need to take this course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes on everything, underline and star anything he writes on the board. It's easy to get wrapped up in the beautiful prose of his lecturing, but they are information dense, and you will absolutely need to know names, dates, and concepts for the exams.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was a class that required a lot of work, but at the end it was beneficial to know the context of American History rather than just facts.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the professor's method of teaching. I learned about the major events that took place in America and the effect they had on the world.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take your time to read the book and take notes.
