    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I know some people fear statistics and upper level math classes. However, I believe that to succeed in a class, the professor has to connect to their students. Dr. Payne was a very special professor in that he did just that. He made learning fun which made me excited to come to class. He has a passion for teaching and it shows.

    Course highlights:

Statistics was beneficial as we use this in everyday life. From research to biases of graphs etc, I was taught to calculate facts (with as much information that was provided) instead of trusting someone to persuade me with their views.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book, learn to use a TI calculator and listen to the professor. Write everything down in your notebook to reflect back on formula's used.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this course if you have an interest in health sciences or if you're required to take it for general education. There aren't many extensive projects to do. Most of the homework that is required is online and is only a few questions long and they apply directly to what you learn in lecture that day.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the real life applications we used in this class. For instance, one day we flew paper airplanes in order to find the standard deviation of the different ways to fold an airplane and by average which design worked best.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If I ever had questions I went to speak to the professor and he was able to help me work through the problems I didn't understand. I would say to make sure that you have a good calculator especially for quizzes and exams. A calculator that shows about 4 digits after the decimal would work great for this course.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very difficult but in my opinion the professor is great. I always struggled with statistics and I will admit I did not do well in this class but it was my own fault.

    Course highlights:

This class used an computer based program to do certain projects which made the class more difficult for me. If you missed even one day you would be totally lost on what to do and the general instructions were not clear.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not miss a single day of this class, do not get behind on homework and do the reading. The readings are long and boring but at least try to understand the content before you go in because it is a difficult subject.
