Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone to take it even if it is just for gen eds because this professor is always hands on and tries her hardest to help her students understand the material and answer any questions.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were basic chemistry, stoichiometry, gas laws, understanding the elements, compounds, and molecules, and basic introduction to radiation.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

All you need to do to succeed is pay attention to ask and complete the work assigned. Also, always ask for help if you need it, the professor is 100% willing to help.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have no doubt that professor Patterson has a thorough understanding of chemistry. However, the way he presents information and teaches is incredibly vague and confusing. Majority of students failed every test, horrible test score averages.

    Course highlights:

This course focuses very heavily on atomic structure and stoichiometry. Out of the many covered topics, these stuck with me.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Only real way to pass this class is to read, study, and memorize each chapter/section that is covered. SI sessions also helped, if available. The textbook explains in a much clearer fashion, and is also more detailed. Reading each chapter takes quite a bit of time, you must allow yourself hours at a time to study for tests. As I said, professor Patterson does know the subject, if you go to his office hours, he is willing to help.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it to anyone who needs to complete chemistry for their major since it will be required. It will certainly provide students who complete the course a better understanding of chemistry.

    Course highlights:

The major highlights of this course were stoichiometry, balancing equations, understanding atomic models, and the labs.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Get the book and read the chapters you have trouble understanding, the book has sample problems that I'd recommend you complete prior the one of the 5 major tests.
