    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is exciting and informative. This course taught me about genetics, and biology on an atomic level. It was the first biology course I have taken and it helped set a foundation for my future in Pre-medical pathway. It is difficult but the knowledge you gain of the fundamentals of biology stick with you throughout your academic duration. I recommend this course thoroughly to all those that are seeking a science or medical degree.

    Course highlights:

In this course you learn about atoms. This gives you a basic understanding of chemistry and the smallest units that make up everything. From there you learn about photosynthesis and how it works in a step by step process. This is the most difficult part of the course, be sure to study alone and in groups. If you spend time learning the different parts of photosynthesis and drawing it out several times you will retain the information. The rest of the course is focused on genetics. This is the most exciting portion of the course. You learn how to use the punett square and calculate ratios to genetics. Biomedical engineering is exciting too!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I recommend studying hard and writing everything down. If you have a laptop take notes thoroughly and follow along with any note guides your professor provides. Stay motivated and engaged participation is generally apart of your grade. Take a lot of time to redraw any models and cycles you learn, color and label them. The biggest part of learning in this class is never missing a day.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It prepares students for future science courses and set them up for success. The professor pushes them to do their best which is also a plus.

    Course highlights:

I learned to always do my homework and study. I didn't have to study in high school but college is a whole different world. I also learned to put in the extra work so I will succeed and meet my goals.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this class. It helps prepare you for future classes. While it is an introduction to science, it is challenging and it pushes you so you'll be prepared.
