    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It was interesting and engaging and Berta made it so easy to learn the material. I actually enjoyed learning about the parts of the brain and what they did, how substances effect your brain and just everything psychology related. Also, her tests always made sense and were not on material we hadn't learned. She was a really fair teacher and really seems to care about her students.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the parts of the brain and what they controlled, famous theorists and experimenters, how drugs and alcohol effect the brain, how people interact and why, what happens when we sleep and the theories about dreaming and much much more.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do it, this course will give you a better understanding of some things and it will help you learn more about yourself. It had some really helpful information and it doesn't make you feel like you have a psychological disorder like some other courses may make you feel.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a nursing major, I've always been fascinated by the body and mind. I believe in holistic healing before medicinal, and Berta Ward taught me more than I could ever imagine about the brain and how it works. The material itself was so fascinating, and Ms. Ward took time each class period to really teach us and make sure we understand how each theory plays out in our every day lives.

    Course highlights:

I was taking anatomy at the same time as psychology, and being able to put the two together was amazing. I was learning about the anatomy of the brain in one class, while in psychology I was learning the mechanics of everything. We got to discover things like psychosocial theories, how the brain fires different thoughts and emotions, and we even got to participate in some of the mind games that Ms. Ward brought to class with her.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely take it. You might not even be interested in psychology, but there is so much to learn about yourself and others through this course.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I took this course as a dual enrollment class and my experience was wonderful with Ms. Graham. She is very sweet and knows the material well. Another quality that stood out to me is that she cares about her students and wants to be in class.

    Course highlights:

In the class I gained a general knowledge of the basics of psychology. It was really interesting to me, and the course covers a ride range of topics. It is basic knowledge of large amount of topics in psychology. Coming out of the class I felt very prepared to take another psychology class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you pay attention in class, do your homework, and study for the exams you will do well. If you do not do your homework, which is not difficult and does not take a long time, your grade will suffer a bit. The main part of your grade are the 5 exams. I did study for them, but I just looked over the notes for no more than an hour and did well.
