Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a fairly intensive class if you are a new comer to economics. Intro to Macro could seem like overwhelming especially given the volume of the class (bit auditorium, microphone, i-clicker). However, the material is quite interesting, and it does take some work to do well.

    Course highlights:

Music and financial update at the beginning of each class. There is also a virtual portfolio that enables you to compete on profit margin with your 400 fellow classmate, which is fun. The financial term and update could be a little confusing at first, but you'll get used to it and it turns out to be very useful to go forward in econ or finance.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study study study. Do the weekly problem set. It's a lot of work compared to other easy A intro classes. But overall, great learning experience. Professor Sheflin is very funny, and at times intimidating since he kept his 400+ people in class in order. But if you go to his office hours, you'll see he's very friendly and helpful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Sheflin is very informative and really wants you to pass by providing all these resources for your need. However, it is up to the student to take adavantage of the resources and study. In addition lectures can be boring and the final exam is 60% of the final grade which I feel is terrible

    Course highlights:

I learned how the different systems of government and international markets are interconnected and the GDP of one economy can have influence on another

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Use the resources given to you. Study in advance for the final, review the information weekly, and don't arrive late to class, fall asleep, and talk during lecture Sheflin will see you and call you out.
