This class was tough.
Professor Carlen is a brilliant mathematician. While his lectures can go way above your head, he gives you every opportunity to succeed. His tests closely mirror the practice exams and homeworks, so as long as you spend a lot of time studying the material, you will do well.
The highlights of this course included the additional learning of Calculus V concepts (partial differential equations), and learning about all the different procedures that exist for solving an ordinary differential equation just based on its form.

Advice for students:
My advice would be to study very hard (especially for exams, look at all prior practice tests) and to learn the material with a group - that's the best way to understand some of the more confusing concepts. Memorizing some procedures wouldn't hurt either.
