    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Well this is a class you need to take so it's important to make sure you're in a section with a topic that you're actually interested in!! It's a lot of work but you learn so much

    Course highlights:

highlights: researching and finding a topic within the genre of research you find most interesting. I learned a lot about my writing style and also about academic sources and all about what an actual research paper should look like

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Find a topic that is approved by your professor as early in the semester as you can... Make sure to stay on schedule with how much of the paper should be done

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I made the mistake of not checking ratemyprofessor.com for this professor before I took the class. He's not a bad professor, don't get me wrong. He's a really nice, intelligent man; however, his grading is rather harsh and his requirements are unclear. The first essay we wrote, I'm sure nobody in our class knew what he or she was even supposed to be writing. He gave us a certain model to follow for quote incorporation, so we all tried following it, but apparently didn't meet his expectations. I didn't find out what it was that he wanted until the final assignment came and it finally hit me...except that's a little late. This class was definitely not an easy A class.

    Course highlights:

I learned that teachers can be very unclear and you just have to bombard them with questions to actually understand what it is that they want from you. I also learned that every writing course you take teaches you a new writing style that they specifically want you to follow, so even if you think you're a good writer, you're wrong.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Because this specific course has many different sections with different topics and different professors, I would recommend not taking the section called "Psychology of Conflict." If possible, choose a section with an easier professor (always check ratemyprofessor.com!) and a more interesting topic.
