Pretty easy, overall.
This was an amazing class because it explored the social issues that come with how society portrays, handles, and studies mental illness. It was really wonderful to see how society has advanced and developed over time in regards to learning about mental illness. The class showed the ways in which society still has room to grow when it comes to understanding, treating, and being there for those that suffer from mental illnesses.
The highlights of this course were definitely the ways in which we explored how mental illness affects people of all genders, ethnic groups, races, socioeconomic backgrounds, and ages. I learned that mental illness does not discriminate and many people are plagued with these life altering illnesses. It was really wonderful to debunk some of the myths associated with mental illness and learn new information along the way.
