    | Would not recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He's really a great teacher as long as you pay attention and do the class - there are a lot of long readings but the questions on the quizzes are right off of the assignments. Took him for Early Roman Caesars and taking him again next semester for Ancient Near East. One of my favorite professors so far.

    Course highlights:

Took him for fall of the roman empire and he takes essays very seriously. He likes to nitpick at every little detail in your essays. I was a top student and then I took his class and that went out the window. His teaching methods suck. He expects you to know as much he does. I don't recommend taking his class. I didn't learn a single thing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

A LOT of reading required. Class will be easy if familiar with ancient lit. but good for anyone. Professor is eccentric but straightforward, no surprises on the 8 quizzes + 2 exams + 1 small paper. Can be a little sarcastic. Be prepared to study. Going to class is not mandatory but helps. Overall great class, pretty interesting, I recommend it.
