    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was so informative and a great way to learn about cultures by what they left behind

    Course highlights:

I learned art from prehistoric times to the romanesque period.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't fall behind. As soon as you finish the class, read more on the piece of art and start making your study guide for the exam

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is fairly difficult. There is a lot to remember. There were two papers to write, a midterm, and a final exam. A trip to a museum on your own time is required.

    Course highlights:

Ancient art history including Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Estruscan, Minoan, Gothic, and more.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Study not only the different art styles, but the objects shown on the slides themselves. Take good notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

For those with a genuine interest in art and history, this class is a dream as you could imagine. Puglisi is super interested in what she's talking about (even though she is an expert in Caravaggio) and makes the content easier to listen to as a result. Sometimes, even if you love it, the class can be difficult to sit through because it's just slides and notes. You have to pay very close attention to get all the details down and understand each piece. Luckily, 105 is early art, and most of this artwork doesn't have super deep meaning like a contemporary piece would.

    Course highlights:

As an art student, it's good to know what came way before and source inspiration. But even as non-art student I would imagine it's just way more interesting than most other history courses. A lot of these pieces are iconic and stuff everyone knows about, so it's good to know about it too.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen closely to what she says, make sure to write down everything you think might be important because it all matters. You really can't skip this class. You can get notes from someone else, but looking up each piece to see what it looks like is way too much work, its easier to go to the class.
