Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Music Theory 100 wasn't a course required for my foreign language major, so I took it as an elective/in order to fulfill a general education requirement in humanities. Many of my friends were music majors, so this course gave me insight into what they were learning from day 1 of their college degrees. The professor was a great one; he always took the time in class to review homework and make sure you were well prepared for exams. He was not one to surprise us. He was also a very approachable professor, as I would occasionally go to office hours with questions or see him at school of music performances.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course we're gaining basic insight into a field of study that wasn't my chosen one, but still seemed highly interesting. The class diversified me a bit academically. I also love that I could have discussions with people outside of my major on their academic topics and not just on a purely social level.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you put your time into the assignments, and you should be all set for exams. Honestly, this was one of the easier introductory courses I'd taken in any subject. If you're not clear on a concept though, do ask about it right away. Concepts in music theory build on one another.
