Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You can learn quite a lot of interesting thing about art history, particularly about ancient art. I find the prehistoric art pretty fascinating. You get these amazingly exaggerated forms in prehistoric fertility statues, and awesome twisted poses in cave paintings.

    Course highlights:

Egyptian art is really interesting. I had to go to a museum for an assignment, and got to get up close to a sarcophagus, some burial masks, and even jars used for organ storage. Pretty interesting getting to learn how the Egyptians treated the dead.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study your terms and your artwork, but don't just memorize. Learn how to analyze a work of art, and how to read into a statue or painting and understand it in its context.
