    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course because all she does is read off her powerpoint slides. She does not explain the information well and her tests are hard, even if you study hours for it.

    Course highlights:

I learned some basic chemistry information.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to read the book before lecture, print out the lecture slides for class, and take extra notes while she is talking. Reach out to your TA and they will probably help you more than Dr. Yang will.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was a required class for me in order to graduate. Therefore, if you have to take this class; then Dr.Barnes is the best professor to teach this course. She will help you as much as she can during her office hours, and when she is not available make sure to go to the tutorial center to get help from tutors! This is a challenging course, but if you really apply yourself and put effort towards your work, then you will do well!

    Course highlights:

My highlight was when I got a 99 on one of the test, which is very unlikely for this course. I learned not to give up, but to instead work harder!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read your textbook and do the practice problems in your textbook! Meet with Dr.Barnes during her office hours for help and advice. Lastly, but most importantly, go to the tutorial center to get help for tutors!

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is the second part of a two part chemistry course. It is integral to completing your general education requirements, especially if your major is in the science field or related to it.

    Course highlights:

The highlights in the course for me were the labs. I am a hands on learned, and gain the most knowledge through hands on activities. The labs are tedious at times, but they are relevant to what we are learning, and the discussion questions help me comprehend the material more.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do NOT procrastinate. The work WILL build up on you. It will be hard at first, but trust me when I say that it will be worth it. The exams especially are not the type of exams to cram the night before for. It is a lot of material and takes nights to study for.
