    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course vitally laid the appropriate foundation for further college math courses. My high school math department was lacking, and this course helped bridge the gap from limited high school knowledge to higher university requirements. In addition, the teacher was always available to provide extra worksheets or specific assistance. She was upfront about the difficulty and requirements which I thoroughly appreciated.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course, I was taught the foundations of college algebra. It focused on the foundation knowledge required for higher math courses. Specifically, I learned logarithmic functions, basic functions, and how to solve systems of equations. This course will also provide skills needed to increase your math ACT score.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study. Study. Study. She accumulates all grades from tests alone. As a result, practice must be done on individual time and is not assigned. As a result, you must make a point to practice the work during your free time, so you don't have to cram study for 5 hours before the test. Also, utilize the professor. She is always offering help.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Fast paced and heavily weighted (can be good or bad for you). Take it seriously and it will be okay.

    Course highlights:

Your typical algebra class. 1/2 of a pre-calc credit.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My final ended up counting for my grade. She changes her grading policy every year depending on how her students are doing so don't always expect that. She's a good professor and I'm taking her again to finish my pre-calc credit. She moves fast but she's always willing to help. I was pushing a low B, possible C and walked out of the class with a 98 so don't over stress yourself. You'll be fine. Typical algebra class. Pay attention.
