    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it opens up your mind to many different facts and opinions about life through reading. You will learn to appreciate the importance of being able to read and write. You will learn how to analyze information you read more efficiently. After taking this course you will be able to understand the powerful writing tactics that authors use to get their points across to the reader, such as Pathos, Ethos, and Logos. As a result of this you will then learn how to use these powerful tactics in your own writing. This class will significantly improve your writing which makes you a much more insightful person. This class lets you learn important skills that you will use for the rest of your life.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were how I learned the powerful tactics authors use in their writing. How the authors make themselves seem like more credible people to the person reading. Such as bringing in professionals to support their opinion, personal experiences, and emotional appeal. This is what makes an article and/or story more interesting and respectable. Another highlight would be the interesting articles I read in the class. Some of these articles made me either question or support certain political views, as well as give me insight on some of the economic situations of certain states, this country, and abroad. The most important highlight of this course was the instructor. He had so much knowledge about the information being presented to us, and he could always answer my questions. The instructor was one the main reason why this English class appealed to me. The instructor went out of his way to explain to me the importance of writing skills and it all made sense to me. This course made me love college that much more. I learned to analyze reading material to the point where I could understand the writing tactic the author was using to persuade the reader, furthermore by studying the way some authors wrote I was able to start writing in the same way. I am now able to write with more credibility and emotion, and that is an important skill in life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give is don't be afraid to ask questions. English class is hard to understand sometimes! So the more you ask questions, the more comfortable you will feel with the material you are learning. I advice you to have an open mind with any reading material even if it uninteresting to you personally, or you disagree with it. Rather understand the tactics the author is using to try to persuade you, or make you understand. Lastly you will write much better if you completely understand the material you read, so ask questions, and/or re-read the material till you understand the overall message and the evidence that supports it. Have fun with what you write, and remember studies show that people write much better when they are writing in their own way personally. The only way you can write personally is if you understand the information, and/or topic you are discussing to the fullest extent.
