I would really recommend him. He's very in depth and makes sure you understand the info. He also gives a decent amount of extra credit for attendance and games (once you get into game theory).
He started off most classes with pretty interesting and tricky riddles. They were pretty fun and helped you apply some of the principles you learn in the class to things that do not seem on the surface to be related to the course materials.

Make sure you have at least a decent grasp of simple Algebra. Being familiar w/ calculus will help but he never required it for exams or homework.
