    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it teaches you the basics of fashion design. It gives you the knowledge of how to go about visual research in the future. Whatever you do, try not to fall behind in this class because it is very hard to catch back up once you do.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course would have to be creating the end garment, although mine could have turned out way better it was super fun to create and present. I would suggest having a little bit of knowledge on how to use a sewing machine and the basics of techniques (pleating, scrunching of material, etc.)

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class you will need to be very aware of your time management skills, that is key for passing this class. Once you fall behind, it is really hard to catch back up. I know from experience, as this was a huge struggle for me. Make sure your assignments are fully completed and turned in on time. Also, you will probably fail this class if you do not participate in the discussions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

My instructor never provided me with the help I needed and therefore I couldn't successfully pass the course on my own.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to source materials and supplies on the spot and utilize my brainstorming skills to establish well thought-out mood boards.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you're doing your best to effectively communicate with your instructor, otherwise finding another to guide you as needed should be the way to go. Never give up on yourself or lower your standards for what you find to be your best work.
