    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I took Intro to Sociology last semester and I really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend taking this course. It was very interesting. My advice is to read the chapters the day before class. That way you have a better understanding of what you are learning about and discussing. If you wait until the day of class to begin reading, you may be behind and find yourself unable to really grasp the material or keep up with what others are talking about. When I took this course it was required that we read the chapters before coming to class then we went over the chapter and discussed it.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how people interact differently with others. I also learned about social norms and how in different cultures people have a different way of communicating. Some things that are normal or that we do not really think about such as the way we talk, slang that we use and how direct we are when speaking towards each other may effect others differently. Especially those who did not grow up in an environment similar to ours.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course was pretty easy. If I were to offer some advice to students considering or planning on taking this course, it would be to read the chapters before class that way you have a better understanding of the topics you will be discussing and you will not fall behind.
