    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend taking this class unless you have to because although it is interesting it is quite difficult. The information and learning about the microscopic things in life is amazing but the class itself is hard. The testing and quizzing is difficult and there is a lot of information to be taken in.

    Course highlights:

I would say the highlight would have to be learning about what causes the different diseases in our body. I have learned so much from this class but it was overwhelming. I have learned about how pathogens enter and exit our body, what microbes cause certain diseases, and the basic structure of pathogens and microscopic creatures as well.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study and know the slides very well. I personally did not do much reading but a lot of the information for tests comes from slides. Take notes in class and pay attention to the information she talks about because she uses that on tests as well. Study in advance if you want to make a good grade in that class.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend the course because I found it to be very intellectually stimulating and quite academically challenging which pushed me to try harder and work harder thus helping improve. The professor and how he explained and taught the course material also pushed me out of my comfort zones and helped broaden my horizons. Overall, it is a very excellent course and so is the professor.

    Course highlights:

The course was focused on microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi, the diseases they cause, how they are transmitted, treated or prevented and other things like the virulence factors present in certain microorganisms and how they affect their response to drugs and medicine. I learnt a lot about microorganisms and the infections they cause. Also learnt a god deal about the medicine behind treating and preventing infections. I learnt the importance of practices as simple as hand washing and proper sterilization of clinical, especially surgical, instruments

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be mentally prepared to absorb a lot of interesting information. Start studying for exams a week before, read the slides as best as you can, study the lecture workbook and take the practice test like you were taking an actual exam.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course requires a lot of memorizing but the information occasionally overlaps with other courses! Most people have to retake it so I would suggest taking it in the fall!

    Course highlights:

I liked learning about the innate immunity systems because they were really relevant to things we were learning in our nursing class

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

STUDY STUDY STUDY. It sounds boring and it is but it will pay off! Take it with the mind set that it is your hardest course so possibly have a lighter load of classes you take the same semester
