Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it is extremely helpful for all Business majors. The ability to use Microsoft excel and access look extremely good on a job application. The professor was also very helpful because she would give detailed lectures over the material that allowed the students to be prepared for the test.

    Course highlights:

In this course a student learns about the Fundamentals of excel. These include functions, graphs and charts, how manipulate workbooks, how to format information and how to make the best presentation of the information. Excel is very math heavy because you need functions to do just about everything. The course also teaches Microsoft Access which is a database that allows you to make forms, queries, and reports.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

For this course I have four pieces of advice. The first is stay on top of the reading. Reading plus the lectures allow for double the knowledge. The second is to stay on top of assignments, getting a bad grade on even one assignment can impact your overall grade greatly. The third is to choose group members wisely. There are a lot of group projects/presentation so be careful who decide to work with. The fourth piece of advice is a studying tip. At the end of each chapter try to make a small review of key terms and highlighted lessons. It will make studying for the final much easier.

    Advice for students:

I would advise that you really read the textbook and figure out a note taking system that works for you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I was anxious before taking the class because I heard that it was difficult, but I discovered that if I did the work, I could easily conquer the material.

    Course highlights:

This course is required for the BBA degree and I now understand why. This course, while some of its content seems obvious, teaches you basic skills that are vital to thriving in the business world and I am grateful that I now know more about the technology side of business.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There was one assignment per week that you could easily receive a 100% on. You have 3 attempts to submit the assignment, with corrections given to you after each submission, making it easy to get full credit. The smartest thing I did was email Mrs. Milligan about questions I had on the assignments and she would respond quickly with detailed answers. She may seem intimidating and strict, but if you politely ask her for help, she will help you thrive in her class.
