Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is awesome! He genuinely wants you to understand the concepts and will not just give you the answers. Furthermore, he is fun to listen to. His lessons are full of analogies, examples, and applications of the concept.

    Course highlights:

This class was mostly about learning the applications of pointers in C++. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about how to construct basic data structures with them throughout the year.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Constantly code. Finish his assignment for the week, and then review previous concepts. You will need to remember most of what you learn.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course introduces the concept of pointers, which on the surface are very simple. The reason I recommend this course though, is all the things you learn to do with pointers. You'll learn new sorting and searching algorithms, faster ways to program tasks you've done in the past, dynamic memory allocation, data structures, etc. This course opens up the whole field for investigation.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about the new data structures this course introduces. Specifically, I loved learning about Linked Lists and Binary Trees with all their variations and uses. I also enjoyed learning about faster ways to do things. For example, rather than sorting a vector of objects, sort a vector of pointers that point to those objects.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do NOT memorize code put forth by the professor. Instead, try to understand the reasoning behind why a task was done a certain way. Do NOT wait until the last minute to start the homework. The program may look simple, but often there is a catch that makes it more difficult and prone to errors.
