    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

    This is a course within the paralegal program at Central Texas College and taught by the man who started the program. Prof. Silverblatt is the best professor in the program. He is easily approachable and willing to help in every way.

    Course highlights:

    Overview of the law and the legal professions including legal concepts, systems, and terminology; substantive areas of law and the federal and state judicial systems; ethical obligations and regulations.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    Read everything twice. Take notes during class refer back to them while studying for the quizzes.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

    It’s a great insight into the paralegal/legal assistant career field. The professor is a practicing attorney who developed CTC’s legal program focusing on what skills are most essential for paralegals. This course focuses on law basics, ethics, goal setting, and learning about the difference in law office settings. It also promotes things one can do beyond school to make their resume shine come their first legal job.

    Course highlights:

    Highlights include differences in work environment, ethics, billing variations, and the cardinal paralegal rule: paralegals cannot give legal advice.

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

    If you're interested in being a paralegal or just have a curiosity, take this course. It will give you the overview.
