    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have always been interested in the art of music, and how music came about. In this course, you learn where music originated from, and how it ties into other art forms such as art and dance.

    Course highlights:

This course highlights how philosophy and music relate, and how old school artists, normally from around 1450-1550, came about music, and how they created it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Its important to maintain good study habits, because this course will require a lot of outside work and studying.

    Pretty easy, overall.

I recommend this class to those who are required to take a creative arts component. The professor was awesome he made it fun and easy for the class. It was an easy A and I enjoyed listening to new pieces of music.

    Course highlights:

I learned a wide variety of genres and the history behind it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to do all the listening activities and try to memorize it. Learn the vocabulary and memorize the songs a long with the artists.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He was enthusiastic about the subject and about our class. He explained everything in detail and let us ask a lot of questions.

    Course highlights:

We learned a lot about music from the Middle Ages to now. It was very interesting hearing the back stories behind some composers we always hear about.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen! There is a listening portion on every exam. We would get 9-10 compositions in each unit and about 5 would be on the exam. Listen for key differences between pieces and be prepared to know several things about each one. Also, highlighters will be your best friend on the notes.
