Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He was enthusiastic about the subject and about our class. He explained everything in detail and let us ask a lot of questions.

    Course highlights:

We learned a lot about music from the Middle Ages to now. It was very interesting hearing the back stories behind some composers we always hear about.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen! There is a listening portion on every exam. We would get 9-10 compositions in each unit and about 5 would be on the exam. Listen for key differences between pieces and be prepared to know several things about each one. Also, highlighters will be your best friend on the notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was interesting . It is compulsory to take an Arts course in collin, and compared to Arts appreciation, Music appreciation is an easier course to pass because the concepts are easier and fun to learn and memorise. It also focuses on the development of music over the time periods, for someone who loves music and history, it is engaging.

    Course highlights:

The course focuses on the development of genres of music over time periods from the medieval era till after the 20th century. Music patrons like the church, the aristocracy, the bourgeoisie are discussed including their roles, the periods of their patronage and how they shape music over time. Relevant musicians are mentioned, though the material is not focused on their lives but their overall influence.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen in class. Take good notes and have fun.
