    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is the best Literary Traditions course offered. It has the best selection of books, in my opinion. In contrast to the previous Lit Trad courses, these novels are written in a more modern english, so more time can be spent appreciating the content rather than just trying to understand it.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was Moby Dick. The course itself didn't differ much from the usual read a novel and write an essay format of all the other courses offered. But reading Moby Dick, an American classic, is what really made the course memorable because it is so full of symbolism and literary elements and it makes all the intensive reading worthwhile.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You don't need to complete the other Lit Trad courses before taking this one. If you're feeling a lull in your completion of the Core or even just in fulfilling your Lit Trad requirements, this is definitely the class to take. However, the professor doesn't provide any writing prompts so you must come up with your own; I definitely struggled with this and would turn to looking for prompts online.
