    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very enjoyable and interesting information, really cool topics and ideas to speculate that are in effect in the world today. Be prepared to work for your grade, there is a lot of information but is well explained and is manageable as long as you put in the time.

    Course highlights:

Learning about vaccines was incredibly interesting in which Dr. Cody disproved every anti-vaccine theory out there. All the different information presented in the lectures is great but it was really interesting to see everyone else's presentations for the disease reports.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you haven't taken Dr. Cody, make sure to ask around to understand his test formatting, learn definitions, and get study groups to discuss it makes it a lot easier to comprehend especially for immunology.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an absolutely phenomenal course! Dr. Cody is an amazing professor who has a passion for his work that is infectious (pun intended). He is fairly straightforward and is willing to answer any questions, given time. Any student whose questions he is unable to address, he invites to speak with him after class or at a different time to help enhance their understanding of whatever concept they are having trouble with. the course material itself, while at times dry, is generally very interesting and provides a good foundation for anyone in the Biology and Biochemistry majors.

    Course highlights:

The greatest highlight of the course was the Disease Report. My only caution: start early! Deadlines are always closer than they appear, and this is not a project one can complete overnight. Be thorough with your research of your disease so that you can at least fulfill (and even surpass) the ten page minimum. Also, the Disease Presentation is for your enjoyment, so do pick a particular topic about your disease that you found particularly interesting. Thus, when you present, you can be enthusiastic and engaging with your audience without faking it! This project will always help your grade in the class if you follow all instructions given and are timely in your submission of your work. Then you will be able to sit back and enjoy your classmates' presentations and bring any and all questions to their attention. The course material introduced up to the start of this project will provide you a great backdrop for your project and a comprehensive understanding of all the topics you will be asked to address in the paper. Enjoy this final project!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to what Dr. Cody tells you in class. Sometimes he gives away test questions. Attend all classes, answer questions, and don't be afraid to interact with him (he's not as scary as may people think).
