Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would absolutely recommend this course because the structure of the textbook as well as the structure the professor provides allows for the student to find their own stance on the nature vs. nurture continuum based on an accumulation of all the theorists. The reading itself is very clear and captivating and the class discussions are quite engaging.

    Course highlights:

The main highlight of the course was gaining the ability to take what we learned and create our own observational experiments to test a theory of our choice. Being able to use the knowledge to observe the way children play and interact was very fascinating, especially because you can see where they are developmentally, both mentally and socially. I personally found that I had a better grasp on understanding my own interactions with kids in order to specify what I need to provide to each individual student to produce the best outcome.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Absolutely know all the reading. It is such a small class and very discussion based, so students must contribute more to the discussion than a usual class. The PowerPoints are worthless. Taking notes as you do your reading at night is the best way to stay organized and learn the information, as the discussions in class move far too fast to take notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was very interesting and helpful! Even if you're not a psychology or education major, this is a very fun elective to take.

    Course highlights:

Multiple ways that the human mind works, how children develop, how to care for growing children

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Read every day! It's extremely easy to fall back on the reading. Also work a little bit on your project every week.
