Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is one I would willingly take over and over again. First, as you would hope from any class, I learned way more than I thought I would. After thinking you've heard all you ever could from the New Testament, everyday I heard a new approach to a biblical passage. The professor challenges your views intentionally to prepare you for real world application when the world puts up a fight against your beliefs. The class is very interactive and every question is met with full explanation until the idea is fully understood with welcome interaction from the whole class. Lastly, from personal experience the professor is very understanding. After the loss of a classmate and best friend, the day before the final, the professor took this into consideration and allowed retakes accordingly.

    Course highlights:

You learn how to learn on your own. After the professor has taught you all he knows he gives you methods on how to study and form your own opinions while. He challenges you not to trust his opinions as solid truth by allowing you to form your own beliefs.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not skip classes. You will buy a workbook in the beginning of the semester and you do not want to leave any white space showing, fill in every blank and take notes of your own. Any time he says "for a rainy day" write it down circle, underline, star whatever you have to do to remember this. And when the time comes to study, study hard. Note cards are sacred during this time.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Every student at Dallas Baptist University has to take Old and New Testament. I enjoyed Dr. Matos class because of the information he explained. He taught thoroughly over each book of the New Testament. However he did not just tell us about the book, he gave background and meaning to certain parts of the text. Explaining it in detail.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the background of the authors as well as the culture in bible times.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the listening guides he provides and listen in class.
