Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Matherly is an excellent English teacher who knows her material and how to make it fun. It was she who led me to loving academic writing, as well as the creative writing I also loved.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Matherly chose excellent reading excerpts to illustrate her material and assigned interesting essays for the students. She made MLA finally make sense for me, and encouraged me through my first semester at college.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the readings. Not only are they helpful to understanding material, but they are well worth the time to read. The selections are interesting and thought-provoking. Many students go to lecture but blow off all but the absolutely necessary readings, but the best advice I can give is to read what you are given, and you will succeed.
