I have learnt everything in Calculus in this course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Pence is a master lecturer. I e-mailed her the week before school started to ask her policy on getting the textbook and she told me I wouldn't be needing it. Skeptical, I got it anyway. Turns out that you can legitimately learn EVERYTHING you need to make an A from her lectures ALONE. Furthermore, she hands you a packet of problems that will serve as your homework for the entirety of the semester. So, you truly do NOT need to purchase the textbook for her Cal One class. The main two perks to getting the book is that it is the same book you will be using for Calculus II & III. It also provides you additional practice problems to prepare for her test. One thing I will say is that you absolutely CANNOT miss a class and you must pay attention. If you ask any questions that she already explicitly and clearly explained, you will feel her scorn. She loves good questions, has no problems clarifying subject matter, but she HATES repeating herself. WARNING: She expects you to already have a solid grasp of trigonometry. If you are weak on trig, find someone who is good at it or spend some decent time brushing up on it. She LOVES trig problems.

    Course highlights:

I walked out of the class with a much better understanding of Trig and a flawless grasp of Calculus.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You absolutely CANNOT SKIP A CLASS. Seriously. You cover about a fifth to a tenth of the midterm (three midterms and a final for the semester) every class. She will cover anywhere from three to ten concepts per class. If you miss even thirty minutes of a class, you will be at a disadvantage.
