    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because Prof. Williams is very understanding with students. The material is VERY difficult and the class consists of A LOT of memorizing. You have to be able to spend time studying, as well as completing the homework.

    Course highlights:

I learned about tax rules for individuals, which will help me if I decide to become a public accountant. Prof. Williams is a very generous professor, he takes into consideration your effort when grading assignments.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to students would be to set aside plenty of time for the Tax Project - it is very time consuming, difficult and stressful. Pay attention to the homework problems and really make sure you are grasping the material as opposed to grazing over it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is taught by Jessie George and she is a tough teacher. To be fair, I knew practically nothing of accounting, even after taking the two required accounting classes for my associate’s degree. She’s tough, but she will force you to learn, which is exactly what I needed. If you want an easy class, don’t take her. However, if you want to learn, take her. She’s worth it.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class had to be the teacher’s personality. She is sarcastic, but not in a mean way, and very straightforward. I learned everything I was supposed to learn in the first two accounting classes and more.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would give the advice to really study for this class. I usually don’t need to put too many hours into studying because I learn fast and read ahead of time, but my lack of knowledge going into this class was a serious disability. If you understood your first two accounting classes and had great teachers, you should be fine. If you’re like me and your teachers weren’t the best, then study. A lot.
