Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
This person comes totally recommended from a person that has been an enemy of math since they first introduced the concept of variables. He teaches the material in a way where you can actually understand it and apply it to real life situation. Ok, not always real life situations, I means whose going to calculate the probability of getting matching socks out of a drawer full of random socks. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who pairs socks. Anyway, he's a great teacher, because he just doesn't lecture and he insures we have a proper understanding of the materiel before assigning work.
Course highlights:
The highlights of the course are the excel assignments because I had no previous knowledge of excel. I mean, I have seen the little icon on the computer, but I never tried to click on it. Not only do you learn how to do the formulas manually and by calculator, he makes sure you're able to do it in excel. It's a great skill to learn because excel is mainly used for professional use, but it can be used to manage your household and finances.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
All you need to do to pass is to attend class ready to learn, ask questions if you're confused, and do the assignments. It's just that easy.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I have always been great at math. It has always clicked with me and been easy for me to learn and understand. This summer, I took this course online and nearly failed. I understood the homework and quizzes, but when I took the midterm and final exams, I failed. After finishing both of the exams, I was confident in my work; until I received my score. Other people who have taken this course, have said the same thing.
Course highlights:
In this course, I learned that I do not need to take online classes any more. This class was extremely difficult to learn and absorb the information. No matter how much time I spent studying and preparing, I still ended the course with a C.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
If you are not someone who learns well by teaching yourself, I would recommend not taking this online class. The information is too much to learn on your own without being taught.
