Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is an interesting course about stories of tragic love stories, and Professor Grenier is very knowledgeable about the novels and their backgrounds. It is a discussion-based class and she makes it engaging with thought-provoking questions. There are three big papers that you have a few drafts of, and she is very clear about what she wants you to change with her thorough feedback. There are many short writing assignments but she gives a lot of guidance and is very flexible about deadlines.

    Course highlights:

My writing definitely improved from the course, and I learned a lot about Russian society because 2 of the 3 books we read were centered around that.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the reading because it's difficult to catch up, especially with the longer chapters, and it helps with all the papers, presentations, and discussions.
