Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He was such a fun teacher and strove to make us better listeners and think about the materials being discussed. He was a fun storyteller, too! Being a retired police officer from Louisiana he had a lot great stories, as well as thoughtful opinions on how presidents handled certain issues throughout history. He was obviously a reader as he seemed to possess a superpower for piecing together knowledge. Tests were difficult only if you didn't pay attention in class, and the guidelines for writing the papers were straightforward without a lot of complicated criteria. Prof. Simon obviously loves to teach and be engaged with his students by asking questions and their opinions on certain issues. Hands down would take him again. Wish I had him for 1301 as well.

    Course highlights:

Prof. Simon's class taught me how to really listen in class. I learned so much from this course, and it greatly increased my confidence as a note-taker which has been such an invaluable skill for all of my other classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you don't have a recording app on your phone of some other device, I highly recommend getting one if you take his class. His catch-phrase was "every word that comes out of my mouth is gold", meaning if he said it in class he's expecting you to remember it unless he says otherwise.
