    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor is difficult to understand, and the course material is extremely difficult. One has to study extremely hard and keep up with this course to be able to succeed in it. Students with no prior knowledge of Chemistry had an overwhelmingly difficult time. Study tips included redoing old tests provided by the professor on the course website. Besides this, the course was interesting and very thorough.

    Course highlights:

Students learned Stoichiometry, Solution Stoichiometry, Gas Laws, Thermochemistry, Atomic Structure, Periodicity, Basics of Organic Nomenclature, and Attractive Forces between Molecules. To do well in this class, students were required to expertly know which conversions to make, which techniques to employ, and which equations needed to be memorized, which was all of the ones that were provided.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the professor and look at the powerpoints he gives you. If you decide that lectures are not going to accurately teach you the material, go over the powerpoints in your own time and go to office hours for questions. Do the practice tests and the homework, even if it is optional. Don't neglect this class just because there is no homework. The very fact that the only grades are the tests makes it crucial to study the most for this class. You need to be able to do all the homework and test questions without hesitation.
