    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course with Dandekar especially will require a great deal of time outside the class. A lot is expected of you and if you take advantage of the resources Dr. Dandekar gives you will pass.

    Course highlights:

Organic chemistry builds upon itself; therefore it is important that you fully understand a concept before you move to the next idea.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Take advanage of study groups, chemistry resource center (learning lab), make sure to always be asking questions... ask yourself, ask the professor, ask your TA, ask te internet.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is very interesting and you will learn a lot but it is a lot of work as well. You can't just get by with memorizing things, you have to be able to understand the mechanisms and see the bigger picture.

    Course highlights:

Something I gained from this course is study techniques. I like to study alone but I think without my study groups and working with others in my class, I would have struggled more in this class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is really beneficial to work MANY, MANY practice problems. Read the book and work the problems at the end of the chapters. As you progress in the course and are working future problems, don't forget to ask yourself the old questions to keep that information fresh on your mind also because it all builds on top of what you have already learned.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Easy A, but you won't learn much.

    Course highlights:

Learned the fundamentals of organic chemistry including substitution and elimination reactions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always go to class! Each absence takes 1% off your final grade in the course.
