    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Gaunt is an excellent instructor and very familiar with the material. Students learn to write in AP style, the standard for the news industry, as well as getting a refresher on grammar.

    Course highlights:

I was introduced to the different styles of writing required for print and broadcast materials, including scripting formats for radio and television, as well as different types of news stories, advertising and public relations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The lectures are thorough, but she moves through them quickly, so it's wise to have already read and taken notes from the text before class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is pre-requisite for any Mass Communication major and covers all types of media writing and practice. I thoroughly enjoyed this course because of content but more heavily waited towards my professor. Professor Gaunt is an exceptional writer, as well as understanding and helpful to any students situation or writing ability.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were projects. No two projects were the same and though they seemed tough at the time looking back were fun and rewarding. What I earned in the course was multiple types of media writing including, editorial, informational, and feature writing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay ahead of your work. You are not given many assignments at once but they are a lot to figure. Writing in itself can be hard with all the requirements and rules so give yourself enough to time create a clean paper that will reward you a satisfactory grade. In group projects take control, treat it aa an individual project and keep on track.
