Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Studying Shakespeare is like studying poetry in motion. This course changed my life and steered my directly into a career in the arts.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the plays. Reading through the canon was like casting a spell on yourself and traveling back in time. I learned, besides the history of England in the 16th and 17th centuries, how to speak in public. How to use words to affect others, how to breathe while delivering long speeches, and how to speed up my thought process. This class sharpened my public speaking instincts tremendously.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need a passion and a curiosity not only for language but also for human nature. Make yourself a cup of tea, even if you don't drink tea, prop up a chair next to a small lamp, and read King Lear from start to finish. You'll thank me later.
