    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a very interesting rigorous course that would most likely appeal to Pre-Med students. It is a very time consuming class because there is an extensive amount of material being taught and tested on. The tests are overall fair except there are an extravagant number of drugs the students are expected to memorize.

    Course highlights:

This course was very centered around diseases. We learned about over 50 different diseases ranging from: bacterial, fungal, protozoan, multicellular, and viral diseases. We learned about their causal organisms, history, life cycles, symptoms, complications, and antibiotics / treatments. We also touched on the immune system, sewage filtration, and etc. Overall it was a very interesting course and I learned way more than I expected I would have.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This professor barely puts any information on his power points, unless they are life cycles or diagrams / charts he expects you to memorize. He usually verbalizes a lot of the material you are expected to memorize. It is really difficult to jot down everything he saids word for word and not miss any material. However, I used to record his lectures and then re-listen to them outside of class and take notes over my notes. As time consuming as this sounds, I felt like it helped me a lot.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a very challenging course and those who do not do well typically do not continue as a science major. However, for those who create good study habits and put in the work that is necessary to do well, this will be a very rewarding class

    Course highlights:

In this class, I love learning about all the diseases. It was very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Record the lectures and always review the recordings after class while taking notes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is very hard, very enjoyable but very hard. Honestly it's a course that you appreciate after you're done rather than during the craziness. You learn how to apply your knowledge and Dr. Richart has a real love for the subject so she makes you love it as well.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were being able to identify different disease and how to treat them, personally now I am able to discern whether or not a specific antibiotic will actually treat my sickness rather than just mask symptoms. The take away from this class is incredible, definitely one of the best courses i've taken in a while

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't ever let up on studying, you may think you know it.. nope keep studying because 9 times out of 10 you don't know it as well as you think. Think of how the knowledge applies in different situations and you'll be golden. Application questions are key for success in this class
