    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

David Beatty is an extremely skilled and experienced man. He knows how to adapt his knowledge and understanding to be successful in the constantly changing music industry.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of the course was the business plan project. I learned about copyrights; the flow of work and money through the entire music business; the importance of attorneys reading your contracts; the way record labels function; tools to promote your work; basic skills of understanding what it is you actually want; how to set real, achievable goals; how to do your taxes well; how to get jobs; all the different jobs you can have in the music industry and what those entail.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't procrastinate. Get your work done as soon as you can. Be organized, and don't expect David Beatty to spoon feed you. Get connected with responsible classmates, and work/study with them. You can be incredibly successful if you just apply yourself.
