Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Daniel Grissom is by far one of the most engaging teacher I have had. His teaching style and knowledge of the subject is amazing. He wants his student to only see success and through his assignments and projects, we get to excel in the topics we receive from him. He is very compassionate and easy to discuss with. Also, he enjoys one on one conversation that allow the student to grow a personal friendship through the love of computer science and coding.

    Course highlights:

Throughout the semester that I took CS220, I have be exposed to the coding language, Java, and have learned the basics of this complex language in a program called Eclipse. Professor Grissom gave us projects that would help us apply our coding to creates programs that function towards everyday life.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If I had the ability to take this class again, I would love too. I think that one of biggiest mistakes that I did while taking his class was disregarded taking all of the notes that Professor Grissom would provide us with on the board. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or go beyond what the text tells you!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is very informative and a good intro class. It gets very hands on and you learn more by doing than getting lectured at.

    Course highlights:

It starts with the basics of programming, and gradually becomes more challenging. The projects were especially fun and engaging to do, and I made about 25 programs.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on the projects. They require a lot of time to figure out and learn the ropes of programming.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a great intro course into the wonderful world of programming. You go to lectures but also get a hands on approach to the subject by making your own programs.

    Course highlights:

Most of the basics and some advance parts of c++ programming. The difficulty progresses throughout the year, but using the basic concepts you start with you use the past things learnt and build upon what you learned to get through the hard topics

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard for the written tests, those are the most difficult
