    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Joe is an amazing teacher who can break down difficult and complicated concepts by using relatable examples and comedy. You will not fall asleep during his lecture because he keeps them interesting!

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the anatomy of the cell and how it duplicates, respirates, and exchanges genetic code. I learned about the building blocks of each macronutrient and the role of each in different processes in our body.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours. Attend lecture, and read the textbook and assigned reading before coming to class. Form a study group, use flashcards. Use youtube videos for some of the cycles he will have you learn.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course not only taught me many basic principles in cell biology, but helped me to fully understand the biological processes involved. We were not just expected to memorize, rather elaborate on material and fully understand the process and meaning behind it. It was much more engaging than any class I have taken.

    Course highlights:

Cellular processes, such as photosynthesis, DNA translation and transcription, cellular respiration. Labs that illustrated all majors points of the course. The importance of genetics and newly found scientific discoveries.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

LEARN YOUR MATERIAL AND UNDERSTAND IT. Be able to speak your way (and write an essay about) all of the processes and concepts mentioned in lecture. Repeated exposure was the best method for me.
